Our training helps your workforce make the most of every contact with parents and carers, and offer consistent, evidence-based advice on child safety.

With in-house training, our expert trainers come direct to you, adapting course content to suit your local needs. Your organisation provides the venue and recruits course participants.

Meeting your needs

We can offer training:

  • for your integrated early years service, to help mobilise professional partnerships
  • tailored to the needs of your health visitors, community nursery nurses and children’s centre staff
  • for fostering teams on the CoramBAAF checklist.

We work closely with Public Health England and the Institute of Health Visiting, which ensures that our training meets the needs of Healthy Child Programme practitioners.

About our trainers

Our trainers are experts in child accident prevention. They deliver training that builds learners’ knowledge, skills and confidence. Above all, they share effective ways of engaging families with imaginative techniques that are easy to put into practice.

“I have learnt some really good ways of explaining things and great practical ideas to help some of our vulnerable families to engage without using written information which they struggle with.”  Family Support Worker

Public Health England guidance on training

High Impact Area 5 highlights interagency training on child accident prevention as evidence of effective delivery and a key element in Professional/Partnership Mobilisation. This builds on earlier guidance from Public Health England that training is a key action area for local authorities and their partners in relation to accident prevention:

“The early years workforce needs support and training to enable it to strengthen its central role in helping to reduce unintentional injuries.” PHE, June 2014.

Case study

This case study of our work in Hampshire describes the roll-out of training to health visitors, community nursery nurses and their children’s centre colleagues.
