Make a change. Make a difference

We don’t want to ‘wrap children in cotton wool’. Scrapes and bruises are part of growing up. But we don’t think children should die, or be disabled or disfigured, in accidents that can be prevented. And even small changes – around your home or to your everyday routines – can make big differences to children’s safety.

The Child Accident Prevention Trust is the UK’s leading charity working to reduce the number of children and young people killed, disabled or seriously injured in accidents. We aim to provide independent, expert, practical information on preventing accidents to children and young people.

Here we've pulled together:

Child safety advice by age group
highlighting serious accidents at different ages and what you can do to prevent them.

Key child safety topics:
Burns and scalds
Electrical safety
Falls
Fire safety
Poisons
Road safety

Common safety questions

Quizzes and competitions to test your safety knowledge
