Safety 2010 logo Safety 2010: 10th World Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion
21 - 24 September 2010,  London

Safety 2010 is a major world conference bringing together stakeholders in the prevention of unintentional injuries and violence from around the world to debate, discuss and exchange information and experiences.

The conference is being organised by the WHO Collaborating Centre for Violence Prevention at the Centre for Public Health, Liverpool John Moores University. The conference is co-sponsored by the World Health Organization. The Department of Health, The Health Protection Agency and the Department of Children, Families and Schools in England are supporting the conference.

The key theme of the conference is Safe and Equitable Communities. This theme has been chosen to reflect the disproportionate burden from almost all types of injuries that falls on poorer communities. Such differences are apparent both within countries, between countries and even between global regions.

The conference will highlight the interface between different sectors, organisations and disciplines. It will also examine unintentional injuries and violence linked to age, gender and ethnicity and focus on settings including the home, work, sports and leisure.

It will be of relevance to practitioners, researchers and policy makers from health, criminal justice, education, public administration and industry are invited to join an international and diverse audience at Safety 2010.
